Unbuntu Detroit is the brainchild Of Barbara Wynder, Terrie Hylton, and Judy Sledge. They are from diverse backgrounds in law, education, and engineering but they have a shared love of art, culture, and community. They also have a rich history of living these principles and giving back.
Together, they are putting forth their efforts to bring to Detroit a unique art fair in the beautiful historic district of one of the finest areas in the city of Detroit Michigan, that is hosted by women of color.
This art fair coincides with the Home and Garden Tours’ 50th anniversary sponsored by the prestigious Women’s Garden Club of Indian Village. It is the second oldest tour of its kind in the State of Michigan and is looked forward to yearly as a family outing.
Patrons will not only get to enjoy and tour the grand homes and stately mansions with their courtyards and beautiful gardens, but they will also be able to attend, view and purchase beautiful art at the art fair while listening to wonderful live jazz music along with activities for children. There is no cost for the art fair and it is open to the full public.
